Drake Palmer Starling

Drake Starling is the Senior Government Relations Advocate for Climate Justice, working for just, inclusive, and effective federal environmental legislation and executive action. His efforts to expand NETWORK’s political ministry are done in collaboration with Catholic, interfaith, and secular partners.

In nearly 10 years of work in the environmental and legal sectors, Drake has gained experience at Kearns & West, working on renewable energy transitions throughout the Northeast and the West Coast; and at the World Bank, working on environmental arbitration cases involving national and local governments. He has also worked at Freshfield Bruckhaus Deringer, USAID, and the Piedmont Environmental Council (PEC). While at the PEC, he participated in a fellowship focused on creating the next generation of conservation and environmental leaders.

He also worked on Department of the Interior and Department of Energy projects that focused on mining reform, hydropower, and tribal engagement.

Drake holds a B.A in Politics and French from Catholic University and an M.A. in International Relations with a focus on International Climate Change Policy from the University of Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona. He speaks English, Spanish, French, Hungarian, and some Russian, and has lived in five countries. He is an avid tennis player.
